First of all, let me say that yes Terrell Owens is/was on my fantasy team. I picked him because he can catch the football. As far as anything else goes I am sick and tired of hearing about him. This guy always seems to tear up anything. I honestly think he could make a nun cuss. Now I don't believe he is the main reason that the Cowboys didn't make the playoffs but if this was math class this is what you would call the common denominator. I think there are 3 other reasons besides him that "America's Team" fell short again.
#1. Jerry Jones - I heard Colin Cowherd say the other day that people are only experts at one thing. I totally agree with this statement. Jerry Jones needs to stick to the oil business. If he was so smart then why haven't all these great moves he has supposedly made worked. He has brought it people like T.O. and Pac Man. You can't make choices like that. Those guys are team players. You are trying to make them into something they are not. Like my good buddy Will would tell you, "You can't turn a Ho into a Housewife".
#2 - Wade Phillips - I watched the game against the Eagles and noticed that on 4th and 1 Tony Romo waived off the special teams and said we are going for it. Where in the hell was Wade? That baffled me. They should have punted the ball and played defense. This is just one expample of a coach with no respect of the players. This team is a perfect example of the inmates running the asylum. Wade seems to fall in the category with Romeo and Weiss. That category is great coordinator, poor Head Coach. If Wade stays I will give him so free advice: Pull your skirt up and make some decisions on your own.
#3 - Cowboy Players - All this B.S. about unamed players making comments is ridiculous. Be a man and stand up. Nobody in that locker room wants to be a leader. When you are the most talented team in the league but the only thing you lead the league in is drama then you are in the wrong profession. Somebody has to step up and tell the rest of the players to get off their ass and produce. How do you get blown out in a win and your in game?
Since Jerry Jones thinks he can be an expert in two things, I think I will try also. My advice to him is trade T.O. and get some defensive backs that can find the ball and their man. Get something for Owens while he still has some value. Roy Williams, Creighton, and Whitten are very good receivers. Barber, Jones, and Choice are talented backs. Don't let this virus infect your whole organization.
New Year's Eve is tomorrow night. So everyone be careful and remember if you drink don't drive and make sure you purchase your choice of beverages at Dewayne's located on Metter Highway.

After sitting here watching the Falcons defeat the Rams, I thought to myself Michael who? The Falcons had made life after Vick a reality instead of a fantasy. This organization was left for dead after the loss of their QB and coach. It is amazing to me how fast they have turned it around. The hiring of Mike Smith was a great decision. He has brought a toughness to a group that was looking for an identity. The skill players are all set. Now raise your hand if you thought the Falcons would be playoff bound at the beginning of the season. Ok now you can lower your hands and you should be ashamed of yourselves for lying.
Not only is Matt Ryan a candidate for Rookie of the Year but he is also in the running for MVP. This young man looks like a grizzled veteran leading his team up and down the field. He has stepped in and made people quit whining about the "dog fighter". This young man has a lot of promise and I selfishly hope he reaches it with the Falcons.
The best off season move in the NFL has to be the Falcons signing Michael "the Burner" Turner. He is showing everyone that he was just being wasted out in San Diego. I mean have you seen this guy run? He bowls people over and never looks back. His running attack is also a great benefit to Matt Ryan. The reason I say that is because it allows the Falcons use play action a lot more. Turner was a diamond in the ruff and I am glad Atlanta decided to dust him off.
I am not sure how far the Falcons will go this year but I think they have the offensive power to stay in the hunt in the NFC for years to come. No matter what happens, if they sure up the defense in this year's draft I look predict another Superbowl appearance for the Dirty Birds.
Well, that wraps up my first blog. I hope I didn't put you to sleep. Let me know what you think. Until then take care.
